Good Morning- we have been notified by Met-Ed that today they will have another scheduled outage.

On a side note we had one on Wednesday same time frame and it was only out for 45 minutes.

Thirty eight years ago when the Wood family arrived at Blue Rocks the logo was a turtle, but shortly after their arrival, Woody thought, what better defines the Blue Rocks Family Campground ( which was originally referred to as a Rest Park & Picnic Grove) was a guy weary from the day to day, just kicked back and relaxed on the Boulder field… and with that began the Evolution of Happy the Camper! The first version was the guy sleeping on the rocks, followed by the Wooden Hiker that stood so proudly at the entrance of the campground on the sign pole, to the Happy Camper you see today on most of our Blue Rocks branded material.

In 1995 a talented young man, Marvin Bowe, painted the scene of the guy sleeping on the Rocks on the front of the Blue Rocks Camp Store & Reservation office, then it was touched up by Vreeland Wood III in 2001. Today a long overdue restoration project was completed by none other than the very talented Emily Bray! Em is a tattoo artist by trade, but her love for art doesn’t limit her expressions to just the tattoo parlor.
We are excited that Em was able to preserve this “Historic” piece of artwork for us… stay tuned for more of Emily’s work to show up around Blue Rocks as we approach our 100th anniversary , but for now , check it out ….
