The belladonna lilies that I i split/moved last summer just started popping up. They are a funny flower...in the spring, they send out some leaves and then completely die back. Then in late July, they shoot up a single stalk with a flowers at the top.

A couple weeks ago, there was some "foam" on the koi pond. I suspected that one of them was spawning...well, we've seen at least 20 small fry over the last few days. They are very small. It will be interesting to see how many koi we have in a couple months. If you want to check them out, the koi pond is behind the patio...ask me about them.

Sittin' by the river with my afternoon coffee and I noticed a sycamore tree upstream ended up in the river after last night's storm. A lot of people had a lot storm damaged but, we had very little. We don't have power back yet but we have a generator so it's not too bad. Times like this make me think about my ancestors and the original inhabitants of our house...no electric or AC ever;)

Lily pads just started blooming. And in the back, some Louisiana River Iris. I think the black gamecock needs a bit more sun.

Doing a little weeding this morning. The birds seem to be enjoying the morning also.

After almost an inch of rain over 2 days, it seems like a good time to do some weeding. Before and after...maybe it still doesn't look that great but, it's headway...always more to go!
