This is your sign that you need a job outside this summer. Trade fluorescent lights for fireflies with a part-time role at Addison Oaks County Park and Campground!

We're now hiring for rangers and contact station staff to work July through October. An ideal candidate would be looking for flexible shifts, with availability to work evenings and weekends. The pay is competitive, the co-workers are second to none, and the office is a campground!

UPDATE: As of May 22, the connector trail has been repaired and is open to visitors once again!

Heads up, trail users 👇

The connector trail between markers 15 and 16 is closed until further notice.

Recent storms have brought more water into the park than usual, and it’s caused damage that can’t be fixed with a quick patch. We’re taking the time to do it right so this doesn’t keep happening. The permitting process is already underway, but we don’t have a reopening timeline just yet.

The good news is mountain bike trail remains open, and access near marker 16 is still open for now.

We’ll keep you posted as we know more. Thanks for your patience while we work toward a long-term fix!

Over the weekend, Mother Nature chose chaos. Rude.

We’ve had a washout between the Lake George pedestrian gate and the park office, so that section of trail is currently closed for repairs.

We know… not ideal. But safety > soggy adventures.

We’ll be sharing an updated map soon with a clearly marked detour to help keep your park plans on track. In the meantime, avoid the closed area.

Thanks for your patience while we get things back in shape.

Let's get this party started! 🎉

This morning, we kicked off our 60th anniversary celebration with a visit to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners auditorium where leaders were presented with a proclamation to mark the milestone occasion.

For 60 years, Oakland County Parks has been preserving natural spaces, creating unforgettable experiences and keeping our communities healthy, active and connected. Growing from just a couple hundred acres to more than 7,000 acres across 17 parks, it's been an incredible journey.

Nearly 2 million guests visit our parks each year, and we're just getting started. We've got new partnerships, expanded access to amenities and exciting anniversary events -- Oakie's having a birthday party in July, and you're invited!

We can't wait to see you out in the parks and at our events in the coming months to celebrate six decades of parks, people and possibility.
