After 11 wonderful years of innkeeping, I’ve made the decision to officially retire from innkeeping as of June 1, 2027. 🤍
This decision didn’t come quickly. I’ve prayed about it, thought about it, changed my mind a time or two, and finally realized that the time simply feels right.
Innkeeping has brought so many wonderful people into our lives. Guests became returning guests, returning guests became friends, and Maple Cove became so much more than a place to spend the night. I will always be grateful for that.
After 11 years, I’m ready for a little less rushing and a little more rocking. 😉 I’m ready to travel with Mark, spend more time with our family, and be present for those precious moments with our grandchildren that simply cannot be put back on the calendar.
But The August House Isn’t Going Away. 🌿
Beginning June 1, 2027, The August House will remain our "private guest house" for those looking for a longer, quieter stay at Maple Cove.
• 5-night minimum, up to 2 weeks
• Adults-only
• No breakfasts, packages, or traditional B&B services
• Your own private house to relax, cook, and enjoy the property
• No additional pets
• Reservations will be made directly with me rather than online
So this isn’t goodbye to Maple Cove — it’s simply a new season. 🌿
Fewer schedules, longer stays, more family time, and hopefully a whole lot more time in that rocking chair. ❤️
