Don’t even know where to begin… The amount of assistance and support being given to the community of Lesterville is overwhelming. We are truly taken back by the kindness from the Red Cross, Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief, and the amazing community members who are coming together to help everyone affected. There are SO many donations and volunteers, I hate to even mention one without mentioning them all, so please don’t think I’m leaving anyone out.
The resources that have been brought together are beyond anything we could have imagined—there truly are no words. If you need assistance, please go to the high school and sign up. So many people are ready and willing to help, and you do not have to go through this alone.
It will bring tears to your eyes to see how incredible people can be during times like these. To see the devastation—the homes, businesses, livelihoods, property, and years of hard work that have been impacted—is absolutely heartbreaking.
This was a generational flood, and it shows in every way. We’re not sure what the road ahead looks like or if there’s any easy coming back from this, but we will try. We’ll lean on each other and rebuild—bigger and better. 💙
