We are a Community of Christ campground. We rent our facility for weddings, retreats, band camps, football camps, youth camps and similar events.

It finally feels like summer in Michigan - that means it's time to register for camps! Camp directors are planning special experiences for campers this summer and we don't want you to miss out!

In order to plan for food, staffing, and activity supplies, we need to know our camp numbers soon. The initial registration deadline for youth camps is June 1, 2026 and will be at the discretion of the directors after that date based on available staff.

Blue Water Work Day

Please plan to join the upcoming workday at Blue Water Campground. We will be disassembling and reassembling bunks as we prepare housing for summer camps. Many hands are needed.

Never sent your kid to camp before? We know it can be hard! Our staff and directors are extensively trained and receive background checks. All of our campgrounds and youth camps are licensed and receive inspections from the State of Michigan. You can learn more about us at www.cofchristmi.org and www.michiganyouthcamps.org.

Are you interested in staffing a youth camp? We are especially in need of male staff and camp nurses for the 2026 camp season. Please contact [email protected] to learn about the process of becoming registered to work within our youth camping program.

There are just a few more days to register! This one-day camp is designed to allow parents to introduce kids to summer camp by spending a day at camp together! Come to experience a typical day at camp, tour the campground, and have a blast together. Siblings and parents are welcome!

Blue Water K-2nd Grade Camper and Adult Overnight Camp - July 26-27

Let's grow our camping program by starting with our little ones who just like to have fun!!!

This brief camp is specifically designed to introduce our younger kids to the Bluewater Youth Camping experience in a fun and family-friendly environment. It is for kids in kindergarten- 2nd grade and their guardian. Other parents/guardians and siblings are welcome to join in the adventure. It’s the perfect opportunity for families to enjoy camp together and help their little ones feel confident and excited about future overnight summer camp experiences.

Everyone will arrive Saturday morning (July 26) by 11 am, have an awesome day of crafts, sports, and learning, and either go home after dinner and an early campfire, or the next morning (July 27) after breakfast and family devotion. We're getting ready for summer camps and that means we're hiring a lifeguard! We're looking for someone who is willing to work as a lifeguard for our summer camp period - dates below.

Community of Christ Michigan Mission Center is seeking a certified open water lifeguard for Community of Christ summer camps at Blue Water Campground on the shore of Lake Huron in Lexington. Camps dates are listed below. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, be or become a registered youth worker with Community of Christ, and complete online anti-harassment training prior to employment. Compensation will be provided at an hourly rate. The Community of Christ Michigan Mission Center will reimburse the cost of lifeguard certification if necessary. Housing will be available at the campground and meals will be provided during camps.

Senior High, June 29-July 5, Grades 10 through 2025 Grads
Junior High, July 13-19, Grades 7-9
Junior, July 6-10, Grades 3-6
Family Camp, June 21- June 28

Blue Water Campground Lodge Carpet Fundraiser

Blue Water Campgrounds lodge is in need of new carpet. A private fundraiser has already brought in $3,500 for the $5,000 lobby and hallway estimate but we're really hoping to be able to also do the fireplace room as well.
We're considering carpet squares so the option of buying one square at $50 each is an easier goal for donors or buy as many carpet squares as you're able to try to get to the $10,000 we need to cover the lobby, hallway, and fireplace room. The $10,000 will not be for the bedrooms, it would be for the first floor community area only.

(The upstairs hallway carpeting is the original carpeting from 1986. It would be an additional $3,500 to replace it.)

Please note that all carpeting will be commercial, high traffic grade.
