Long weekend. Three days. One tank of gas. ⛽

Central Kentucky is smaller than people think. The Gorge, Lexington, and the Bourbon Trail all sit about an hour from each other, which means you pick one place to sleep and let the rest of the trip come to you.

Day one in Red River Gorge: Nada Tunnel, Natural Bridge, Miguel's for pizza, hot tub by dark.
Day two in Lexington: coffee downtown, horse farms on the drive in, dinner you'll still be talking about weeks later.
Day three on the Bourbon Trail: Four Roses and Wild Turkey, a few miles apart in Lawrenceburg.

Pick your base camp: the Gorge, the city, or somewhere on the trail, and let three days do the work of a week.

Meet Luke. Co-founder and by his own description, the team mascot.

He's not being cute about it. He was paid to be an actual mascot for five or six years. We consider it relevant experience, lol.

These days his job is people and expansion: building with clients, building the team, and scouting the new markets and properties that come next. He's been here since day one.

24 hours in downtown Lexington, and the car never moves.

Park once at the Modern Loft, drop your bags, and everything after that is on foot.
Breakfast at is a two-minute walk. Coffee at is one. Gratz Park and the Kentucky Theatre are a wander. Lunch at , dinner at , all five minutes or less.

And the best hour of the day is the one where you go back to the loft and do absolutely nothing.

Some houses you rent. This one you kind of move into for the weekend.

The Berry is a 1960s brick ranch in Lexington that we brought all the way forward. Sage board-and-batten walls, marble tile, a white brick fireplace, butcher block and brass in the kitchen, and a neon sign in the corner that tells you exactly how to spend your weekend.

The layout is the real selling point. There's a lounge with two seating areas so nobody's fighting over the good chair, a proper dining setup on the covered patio, and a fire pit ringed with Adirondacks out back for when the evening cools off.

You're minutes from downtown Lexington, an easy drive to Keeneland and the Kentucky Horse Park, and right in the middle of bourbon country. Or you stay in, make coffee, and don't move.
