Thistledown at Seger House

McGuiness Hospital located in Ligonier, Westmoreland County on March 4, 1966. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy of Allegheny County in 1944 when they purchased the 1918 family mansion, the structure served as a hospital for the next 67 years and even included a pool. It was the smallest hospital in Pennsylvania. It was closed in 2011.

As some of you may have noticed, we have been hinting about a bakery storefront when being asked where we are located. Well… here it is! We are so beyond excited to share this with you and start this journey 🤩

Myself and my family (shoutout mom & dad! Amy Gaynor) have put a lot of work into this space over the last few months. And now Sweet Pea Bakery is almost ready to open its doors! 🍪

Come see us and the new storefront during Ligonier Ice Fest (next weekend, January 19th-21st)! ❄️ We will be hanging out in Thistledown at Seger House at 221 W Main St, Ligonier all weekend. Maybe even with some hot drinks and sweet treats! 🧁

Sweet Pea Bakery will be officially opening its doors in February, so consider this a sneak peak into what’s to come! Keep your eyes peeled for my opening date so you don’t miss any yummy baked goods 😊
