The pipes and drums aren't the only reason to come up the mountain this September. 🥁🥃

The 51st Annual NH Highland Games & Festival takes over Loon Mountain September 18–20 — heavy athletics, Highland dance, pipe and drum competitions, sheepdog trials, and more. And right here at the Mountain Club, we've got a weekend of our own lined up:

🪗 Cracking Ceilidh — Fri, Sept 18 @ 7:00 PM | $45, all ages, beginners welcome Dance the jig, swing, and reel with caller Summer McCall. Light refreshments, cash bar, comfortable shoes required.

🥃 Whisky Master Classes — Fri & Sat, Sept 18–19 @ 12:00 & 2:00 PM | Hancock Room | $40, 21+ A tasting and presentation with Simon Brooking, Suntory Global Scotch Ambassador for Laphroaig.

🎵 Harp Concert — Sat, Sept 19 @ 8:00 PM | Kinsman Room | $20 An evening of sweet harp melodies.

Labor Day weekend just got a whole lot tastier. Join us Saturday, September 5th for our Grand BBQ Buffet — Black Diamond Brisket carved right in front of you, plus ribs, chicken, and Cabot BBQ Mac & Cheese. Round it out with all the fixin's (New England baked beans, potato salad, housemade cornbread, green beans, hot dogs, tater tots) and save room for the chef's dessert table, including strawberry shortcake. 🍓🍖

This is the payoff from the top of Loon Mountain: a full valley below, Loon Pond catching the light, and the White Mountains rolling out as far as you can see. Whether you hike the summit trail or take the gondola up, it's one of our favorite reasons to call this place home.
