It is with a crushed heart and dream that I announce we are a total loss from the brutality of Helene.
Paige and I are so very thankful we didn’t have guests during this catastrophe, and equally thankful that our families and friends physically made it through Helene unscathed. Property, as Im sure a lot of you have realized in the last few days, is replaceable. Cliche yes, but, true nonetheless. I’m also thankful for a husband that reminds me, “it’s okay to grieve and be thankful at the same time.” You are my pillar of strength and words of wisdom, always.
So in the past few days and days to come, we will grieve this dream, built and lost.
We will also be so very grateful for our guests that made this dream a reality. A piece of me is now buried on the shores of Soap Creek on Clark’s Hill Lake, forever. I never knew how much I’d love the hospitality business. Lighting guests’ faces. Lightening guests’ loads. Knowing and seeing the connections and reconnections made at UHG. Hosting anniversaries, and birthdays, to girls trips, guys fishing trips, bachelorette parties, wedding parties, celebrations of life, family vacations, couples getaways, friends gathering, and holidays, it has been our pleasure. Reading the reviews on line, via google and third party booking, and the handwritten notes have given me life. Each have made me beam with pride, and stoked my fire. The dream pushed me. But our guests drove me.
When I was able to go by boat to see what’s left of my happy place, gathering the handwritten notes from guests was the top priority. Actually, it was really all I brought home. They’re all soaked, but we will do everything we can to preserve them. Your notes, have breathed life into me, even today.
To our past guests, thank you. Thank you for trusting Untamed Honey Glampsites to give you a dreamy experience.
To our future guests who have already booked, we are sorry we cannot offer you what Untamed Homey Glampsites once was, just a few days ago.
I’ve just reached a friend’s home a few hours away to gain internet access. In the next few days I will be working on reimbursing you.
To all of our guests and followers of our social media who’ve been affected by Helene, we are praying for you during this horrific time.
To my beloved happy place, you provided me family time. You provided me praise and worship time. You provided me peaceful praying time. You provided me new friends. You provided precious bonding time with my little girl, teaching her about nature and a strong work ethic.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
It has been a joy to create and offer a space for guests as well as myself to disconnect and reconnect with loved ones. A place to, “go wild—stay luxe.” ❤️🐝
