2. One-day Quilt Trail itinerary
Think of the day in two chapters: a downtown walking loop wrapped in coffee and lunch, and an afternoon country drive where the barns and back roads tell the rest of the story.
Morning: Downtown walking loop (2–3 hours)
Start: Park near the Court Square (N Court Sq & E Main). Most downtown lots are free and easy to use.

Main Street run
From Poplar, stroll along Main Street, working east to west:
Lincoln Economic Development Association (LEDA) – 502 E Main
Lincoln Cultural Center – 403 E Main
Lincolnton–Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce – 101 E Main
Charles R***r Jonas Library – 306 W Main
Firehouse finish
Drop a block south of Main to the Lincolnton Fire Department – 116 W Sycamore
Break options:
Grab coffee or a snack at one of the downtown cafés.
If you’ve got extra time, pair this with the Historic Downtown Walking Tour and Public Art & Murals—the city has separate guides for those, and you’ll see murals and historic buildings between quilt stops.

Neighborhood quilts – a short in-town drive
Edgar James Home – 307 S Laurel St
Grier Street Home – 501 Grier St
These are private homes, so enjoy from the street and be respectful—no walking into yards or blocking driveways.
Afternoon: Back-roads barn-quilt drive (2–3 hours, flexible)
Now for the “Sunday-drive” part of the trail: fields, barns, and long sight-lines.
Use a map/GPS and treat these as waypoints in whatever loop fits your starting point:
Harmon / Corriher / Long Shoals / Philadelphia cluster
2924 Harmon Rd, Lincolnton
2972 Corriher Farm Rd, Lincolnton
3210 Long Shoals Rd, Lincolnton
3327 Philadelphia Church Rd, Lincolnton
Crouse / Bess Chapel / North Brook loop
2037 Johnstown Rd, Crouse
1259 Bess Chapel Rd, Cherryville – multiple quilts on the property
Gales Farm – 6127 NC 182, North Brook
How to drive it:
From Lincolnton, you can head out toward Long Shoals and Philadelphia Church, then curve through the countryside to Johnstown, swing to Bess Chapel, then on to Gales Farm before making your way back toward town. Roads are mostly two-lane country roads—pretty, but keep an eye on shoulders and blind hills.
Allow time to pull off safely for photos; look for church lots, wide driveways (without blocking anyone), or signed pull-offs rather than stopping on the road itself.
Again, these are private homes and working farms, so:
Stay on public right-of-ways
Don’t walk into fields or porches unless explicitly invited
