Happy 4th of July!!! Our campground weathered a microburst storm last night around 10pm. The winds that came through caused a mess. We went through last night and didn’t see anything major but it was difficult in the dark…the largest issue we found was a big limb on our own house roof 😬. We will go around again this morning to double check everything.

The electric went out during the storm in the campground and entire area approx 10pm through 6:30 this AM….we all cheered when it came on this morning ONLY for us to witness our own “light show” in the front yard as it shorted out again due to tree limbs across our front yard lines. The electric company just arrived to our rescue! Power should be restored soon!

UPDATE: we are back ON at 10:50pm! Let’s see how long it lasts 🙏

POWER OUT as of 9:00pm….we have no idea how long it will be out so plan accordingly and check back for updates. This heat is a scorcher!

The HEAT 🥵☀️is coming starting Monday into our busy holiday weekend….PLEASE read and use these tips as high heat + busy camping puts sooooo much stress on our power. Be prepared with extra water as a power outage stops our water pumps.

****When you get to camp start airing out your camper by opening windows and turning on the EXHAUST FAN.

• Once the exhaust has worked for a bit, close windows and blinds to keep the sun out.

• Set your AC unit to 78 degrees....this will prevent your AC from overworking to cool the camper down. The goal is to turn the temp down SLOWLY instead of blasting your air at 60 degrees.

• Be mindful of leaving pets unattended if you are leaving camp for a few hours...this is a prime week for power outages in our entire area!

• Remember you have 30 amps to work with at your campsite....running the AC unit takes a big portion of that. Turn off all unnecessary appliances and make sure your hot water tanks are set to propane/gas (which is always a requirement).

• Please remember to turn your AC unit OFF when you are ready to leave camp and head for home.

Power came back ON at 5:30am this morning…so it was out for about 13 hours. Use your best judgement with your fridge and freezer items. There are still lots of people without power so we are thankful for the workers who worked through the night to get things up and running!
