But in just 25 days, we officially enter the season of crisp mountain ⛰️ air, colorful drives, cozy downtown walks, and watching the White Mountains trade their summer greens for shades of red, orange, and gold 🍁.

🦋 Butterfly Release in Littleton | September 12

On Saturday, September 12, 2026 families will gather beneath the pavilion at Remich Park for one of the North Country’s most meaningful 🥹 community traditions.

Now in its ninth year, the Butterfly 🦋 Release offers an afternoon of music 🎶, readings, remembrance, and quiet reflection before butterflies are released together in memory of loved ones who have passed.

📍 Remich Park, Littleton, NH
🗓️ Saturday, September 12, 2026
🕐 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
💛 $20 registration includes one butterfly
🦋 Additional butterflies: $15 each

One registration covers your entire party, so families 🫂 can attend together. Registration by September 1 is recommended to guarantee butterfly availability.

The ceremony will take place regardless of weather, so dress accordingly and come as you are. The event is presented by , which provides home health, palliative, and hospice care throughout 📍 northern New Hampshire.

A day exploring Littleton is even better when you have a welcoming 😌 home base waiting for you when you’re done!

Grab your morning coffee ☕️ and wander Main Street, browse the local shops 🛍️, enjoy lunch or dinner 🍽️ downtown, walk along the Ammonoosuc River, and discover some of the little surprises tucked around town, all while staying close to the heart of it.

Did you know that long before Littleton became known for its charming downtown and White Mountain 🏔️ adventures, it was one of New Hampshire’s glove-making 🧤 capitals?

In 1866, local entrepreneur Ira Parker founded what eventually became the Saranac Glove Company, beginning with deer 🦌 hides sourced from the region and crafting gloves largely by hand. As demand grew, the business expanded rapidly, and by the late 1800s the Saranac Buck Glove Company had become one of the town’s largest employers. By 1900, it employed more than 250 people 🤯 and was producing nearly one million pairs of gloves every year!

Glove 🧤 manufacturing wasn’t just one business, it became a defining industry for 📍Littleton. Powered by the Ammonoosuc River, multiple glove factories helped shape the town’s economy and Main Street, attracting workers, supporting local families, and contributing to the thriving community visitors still enjoy 😊 today.

The next time you’re strolling through downtown Littleton, remember that beneath today’s shops 🛍️, restaurants 🍽️, and cafés ☕️ is a town with a rich manufacturing history that helped build the community we know and love today!
