As a very busy year comes to a close, we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to pause, reflect, and celebrate. We’d like to give a heartfelt shout-out to our incredible General Manager, Sylvia Lizarde, and the entire Hilton Garden Inn–Lompoc / Valle Eatery & Bar team.
Sylvia was named General Manager of the Year for 2024 across all Hilton Garden Inn properties in North America and Canada, earning a #1 ranking among more than 800 properties, an extraordinary accomplishment. While the award was presented to Sylvia, she has shared time and again that this recognition would not have been possible without the dedication and contributions of our entire team. She proudly views this honor as a true testament to the hard work, commitment, and teamwork of everyone involved.
Our ownership team had the joy of surprising Sylvia with the announcement in late February of this year, during what she believed was a routine meeting. Instead, the Hilton Garden Inn management team joined a special call hosted by Alan Roberts, Hilton Garden Inn’s Corporate Brand Manager, who along with his team, shared the exciting news that Sylvia had been selected as General Manager of the Year for all Hilton Garden Inn properties in North America and Canada.
In May, Hilton flew Sylvia to Washington, DC, where she celebrated alongside other Hilton Brand Award winners during a cruise along the Potomac River. Just a few months later, in September, she was also recognized at Hilton’s 2025 All Suites & Focused Service Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida.
Sylvia has worked for our ownership team for 18½ years. She began her hospitality career with us as an administrative team member and, over the years, has grown into a respected leader, serving in nearly every position across the hotels our ownership team has owned. Her journey is a true reflection of dedication, growth, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
As if that weren’t enough, we were also honored with two additional awards:
*The Make It Right Award, ranking #1 out of more than 800 Hilton Garden Inn locations across North America and Canada for overall guest stay experience, a powerful testament to our team’s commitment to going above and beyond.
*The Hilton Award of Excellence, presented to the top 5% of Hilton properties based on combined guest feedback and Quality Assurance scores. This marks the third time we’ve earned this distinction, previously in 2018 and 2019.
In August, we celebrated these incredible achievements with our team, guests, and valued local community supporters and business partners during a cocktail reception, taking time to truly honor the three awards we received.
These accomplishments reflect the hard work, passion, and dedication of our entire team. This recognition belongs to each and every one of our amazing team members. We are also deeply grateful for the continued support of our valued guests, local community supporters, and business partners. You are a vital part of our journey, and we could not be more grateful.
As we close out the year, we want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported us over the past eight years since opening. We look forward to the new year ahead and to continuing to serve every guest who walks through our doors with care and excellence.
