It's Thursday, May 21st, 2026 and we are happy to announce the Mountain Bike Trails at Mt. Sabattis Recreation Area, 6 Pavilion Lane in Long Lake, NY are officially open for the season. Expect some sections to have some soft spots and some rocks, but overall conditions are good. Access the trail system via "Start Me Up" adjacent to the town tennis courts. That is our climbing trail to our other trails which are accessed from the Pavilion Parking Lot. Currently the upper lot at the Pavilion is closed so you'll have to access our trail system from the Climbing Trail. Need more info - check out trail forks or our page - links below.

Our first Guided Paddle is taking place on Thurs. May 28 from 9 am - 12 pm! This paddle is the kick-off to the Great Adirondack Birding Celebration sponsored by Northern New York Audubon, with all proceeds going to support loon conservation and research! Join us to learn about loons while paddling with loons!

***All paddle locations are within a 20-minute drive of Saranac Lake. We send out location details and directions one week before the paddle, to allow us to make decisions based on loon activity.

🇺🇸 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞 – 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟓 🇺🇸
This year, 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 #𝟔𝟓𝟎 will host both the traditional Long Lake Memorial Day Parade and the Hamilton County Memorial Day Parade.

What Does This Mean?
There will be 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 and several ceremonies throughout the day to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Schedule of Events
🕚 11:00 AM – Bridge Ceremony
Traditional Memorial Day ceremony at the Long Lake Bridge.

🕦 11:45 AM – Long Lake Memorial Day Parade
The local parade begins at Town Hall and proceeds to the Long Lake Cemetery, followed by the traditional memorial service and decoration of veterans’ graves.

🕑 2:00 PM – Hamilton County Memorial Day Parade
The county-wide parade begins at Mount Sabattis Recreation Area and travels to Long Lake Central School.

🌭 Approximately 2:30 PM – Community Hot Dog Lunch
The Long Lake Fire Department will serve hot dogs following the county parade.
