SCAM ALERT FOR OUR FOLLOWERS- We are bringing this to your attention because we would feel irresponsible staying silent. Your safety matters to us and we want everyone in our community to stay protected online.
With this said, we need to make everyone aware that spam accounts have been leaving scam comments with links on some of our posts promoting “alumni” apparel using our logo. These comments are NOT approved by us, and we are not selling alumni shirts, hoodies, or any apparel through links in the comments.
We are actively blocking, reporting, and deleting these comments as soon as we see them, but we do not always receive notifications in real time. These accounts will often post a scam comment and then reply to their own comment while tagging people who previously interacted with that post. We have also noticed that once we block one account, another account will post the same comment shortly after on the same post and then shortly after on another post.
If you are tagged in a comment like this on our page, DO NOT CLICK THE LINK. There is a chance you may see it before we do, so please report it right away so we can remove it. Because again, we don’t always receive notifications in real time.
For your safety, leaving links in the comments is not something we do. Please never click links from unknown accounts.
We have turned on Facebook Moderation Assist to help prevent this activity. Unfortunately, there is currently an error that is not allowing us to select the option to block links in comments. We are working diligently to get this corrected, but resolution times can vary since Facebook does not always respond quickly to support requests.
