Our family of 26 enjoyed our stay very much. Our week there included day trips for rafting, hiking, golfing and more. The Ponderosa offered us ample space for us to gather to eat and socialize. The badminton was a hit. Also the great front porch and the firepit. Kids enjoyed the goats. The New River Gorge National park is wonderful. The owner was very responsive to any request we had. Since he is onsite every question is handled in minutes.
We vacation as a large group every year and this was our best place yet.

2023 was a busy year and 2024 looks to be even busier. Our availability is filling up fast. Get your family or group together and call us to book your next stay at the New River New River Gorge National Park and Preserve.

With 325 million visitors last year, park attendance nationwide was higher than any year since 2020 but still not more than 2019’s 327 million.

Bridge Day is over. Fall foliage is at its peak colors, but we are still harvesting tomatoes! We picked three buckets of tomatoes, celery, zucchini, beets and more and LOTS of winter squash. Time to can more tomato sauce.

The Meadow River Rail Trail is NOW OPEN, and we are the closest large group lodging to it. Humans, leashed pets, horses, and Class I e-bikes are all permitted (no ATVs). Get your group together and book a stay to see the beautiful fall colors at this amazing new attraction for area.

Best pear harvest ever

Lots of produce harvested today—beets, green beans, Swiss chard, and more, including a ginormous zucchini I must’ve missed earlier this week. Weeded the greenhouse too. It’s looking fabulous, and the goats, chickens, and humans are all happy with the results.

The waterfall is still flowing from this week’s rain, and the native phlox, Joe pye w**d, black-eyed Susan, and jewel w**d are blooming.
