There is just something in the quality of a new hotel. It’s funny we had a maintenance engineer recently start here thinking it was going to be super easy because the building, the furniture, etc is all new - and that would make sense right?

Actually, building maintenance is just as intensive in a new build as it is in an older building. The only real difference is instead of rebuilding or fixing things that are older, we are in many ways still fine tuning the small pieces that are not as crucial, but make such a huge difference in appearance.

Thursdays are my favorite day of the work week for me because they have always been about revenue management. This key time of the week where all relevant departments in a hotel connect to discuss pricing strategy and forecasts based on past performance to position rates for future success.
But why Thursday’s only you might ask? Here’s my reasoning:
1. STR (past performance reports) always release Wednesday’s
2. Thursday is considered a “shoulder night” so is often the slowest day of the week in operations
3. It’s a tipping point during the week where your corporate/week day regulars leave and gear up for weekend groups

My main focus this week is organization. I find it amazing how such a simple concept, when wholly embraced with a positive intent - can have such a resounding impact on efficiency, results and honestly even happiness.

Summer 21 with my drone from has been fun. This is one of my hotels and honestly it’s so amazing/unique even though it’s a brand because every room is like a whole apartment with full kitchens, it’s truly an hotel IHG Hotels & Resorts

We made fajitas with rice the other day and I can't help be surprised how much I loved it. I am not a great chef or anything but I honestly just took some calculated risks and it turned out pretty amazing. We sort of just figured it out🤷‍♂️

Do you guys every feel that way about a certain food? The habanero salsa with the chips and the corn in (literally) everything are what do it for me.
