Good morning from Melrose PodShare! ☀️

Seven years ago, I upcycled leftover wood from our Westwood location to panel these pods. After 7 years of wear, tear, and guest doodles, it was time for a much-needed refresh.

We kept the original structural bones and put up new Lauan paneling—though inflation has certainly hit ($35 a sheet up from $19 when we started!). But instead of standard finish nails, I’m trying something brand new: decorative screws! This allows us to easily remove the panels to clean thoroughly behind them whenever needed. 🪛🧼

We are always building in public and constantly improving our spaces for our guests!

Why buy new when you can upcycle? ♻️ After having to close a location years ago, I saved all this wood instead of tossing it. Today, it’s finally getting put to good use on a new countertop.
It’s good for the environment AND the pocketbook. 💵🪵🔨

Check out our custom glass display case at the coffee shop to keep products at eye level or offer a seasonal floral design.

I used angular metal from an old podshare project. Danny welded the frame. We purchased the metal sheet for the backing, then I took it to the glass store for the front & lock. Here is a video of me installing it with Oscar, adding shelving bought off Amazon, and finishing the stucco around it. Interior design by Karlo of Kar Sweets.

Interactive displays at eye level make a big difference in how customers interact with products and enjoy sidewalk businesses. The goal is always clean presentation + practical function.

This type of display works well for:
cafes
retail shops
hospitality spaces
lobbies
product showrooms

We enjoy designing spaces that balance aesthetics with real-world usability.
