We had such a good time with Suzan and Michael and the neighborhood is so beautiful and it is really near everything, you can reach so much so easily in this big city it was awesome. We were so happy to stay at Suzan's place and with such sympathetic and friendly and cool hosts, we definitely had a very very good time. :)”

“I can’t say enough good things about how wonderful my stay at Suzan’s house was! This was my first Airbnb experience and I was very apprehensive about the idea of staying in someone’s home with other guests. My concerns went away immediately after I met Suzan and she welcomed us into her home. Suzan is a warm and gracious hostess who goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable in her home. She is a lovely and very caring person who has a BIG heart! Her home is as beautiful as you see in the pictures with furniture, artwork, and decor, much of which has been in her family for many generations. Suzan has designed a magnificent backyard oasis filled with lush greenery, flowers, pottery, and a trickling waterfall. It’s a beautiful and tranquil place to relax In the evening or great place to start your morning with a delicious and Very Large cappuccino that Suzan makes herself for you! The location is so central and perfect for getting to most all of LA’s popular attractions in just minutes. The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet, safe and very family-oriented. Parking was always available right in front of her house and Suzan provides a permit so that you can park there. The bedroom we stayed in was lovely, had lots of room and had the most comfortable king-size bed I have ever slept in! All the guests in the house were very respectful and so quiet that I hardly even knew they were there! I feel very fortunate to have found Suzan’s home for my stay in LA and am grateful for all she did to ensure that my daughter and I had a wonderful experience at her home! If you book with Suzan I am sure you will too! Thank you, Suzan!”

“Suzan is an incredible host and a very nice and interesting person. She was always there for me no matter what questions or travel issues I had - how to rent a car, what restaurants to go to or places of interest to visit. She provided me with everything I needed during my stay: toiletries, towels, hairdryer, iron, even makeup mirror! Everything was clean and fresh, always. Her stylish house and beautifully designed garden made me feel relaxed and welcomed. Now I know the best place to stay in LA and it is Suzan’s house. ”

“Staying at Suzan's place was such an amazing experience. I could not recommend it more. There is an endless amount of books and art to look at in her house, and the location is amazing! The room was cleaned a lot through out our 1 week stay and the beds were incredibly comfortable. There is a really lovely garden out the back to enjoy the amazing coffee Suzan offers in the morning. Suzan is a really great human and has 2 of the best dogs I've ever met! So much fun! Suzan is laid back and we felt very comfortable coming and going as we pleased. Stay here!! You wont regret it!”

Since it has been such a long time since I posted a review of my BnB, I thought I would share the latest one from Aromal R (it's pretty fantastic).:

Stay at Suzan's place started all in a hurry. Why I mentioned it is because I had no trouble getting started with the stay at La Brea even though I contacted her just a few hours back. All instructions given by Suzan is accurate and she is a dependable host - no surprises period. As for the property, it's exactly as advertised. Suzan being a designer herself has paid lot of attention to detail and she has preserved more than 100 years of history in the house. Every corner is well thought. There is ample storage for keeping your things and the same goes for wardrobe. Kitchen is well stocked compared to other places I have seen, and all of the instructions well documented. I really didn't have to ask too many things and in a day or two I was well settled. The backyard and garden is a treat. You will love the amount of nature packed in a small place in a urban space. Everyday Suzan makes cappuccinos and once you have it, it's a nice thing to look forward to. In short unlike many places where you are given a space and then you are on your own, with Suzan's place, there is always an eye to make sure that you are comfortable and has no trouble. Lastly Suzan being a well educated, read and traveled person; if you are able to happen to be of same wavelength there is a lot of knowledge that she is willing to share over a coffee. I would be going back and would love to recommend this listing. It's value for money and loaded with lot of pleasant surprises !!

A Fantastic review from Sinead of my BnB...keep it in mind for your next trip to Los Angeles!

"This is an extraordinary place. The room is big with the best king sized bed ever. The neighborhood is safe and beautiful (Mexican style houses) and quiet. You are five minutes away by foot from a Ralph (supermarket) and a Trader Joe's (great small supermarket). You can walk to the Groove in 20 minutes. There are great cafes right next door, particularly the fantastic Sycamore Kitchen which has amazing coffee and great food. Suzan is out of this world: generous, warm, helpful, knowledgeable and very attentive towards her guests. You cannot find a better host. I stayed for a little over a month and I would love to come back for another."

Awesome,more awesome,Suzan! I didn't know what to expect when i booked the room.but my first thought was that it felt like like home when i went into my room at Suzan's house! It is a beautiful house in a beautiful area! Suzan was one of the nicest hosts i ever met and i enjoyed every Single Day during my stay. Always when i asked questions she really tried to help me and always answered my questions very detailed. The bed was really comfortable and the room very big.i could also use every single other room in the House too. Suzan did a great Job and there is nothing i could criticize about my stay in her House! There are Lots of Restaurants,Cafés, Bars and Supermarkets in that area. The next time i will definitely stay there again!

We had a pleasant first experience with Suzan and Airbnb. Suzan's accommodations were very nice and clean. She was a wonderful hostess, giving us coffee each morning, and providing an interesting synopsis of her family's history in this historic LA neighborhood. I would not hesitate to stay with Suzan again, and utilizing the Airbnb opportunities in other locals.
