Santa Monica, about a 20 minutes drive North has plenty to offer for tourists. The colorful city of Santa Monica is sandwiched between Venice and Malibu along the beautiful coastline of the Pacific Ocean. With three great shopping destinations, shopping here is a must! You have 3rd Street Promenade, Montana Ave and Main Street. The Santa Monica Pier features the famous Pacific Park: a family amusement park with a large Ferris wheel, a vintage carousel built in the 1920s, an aquarium, shops, entertainers, an arcade, a pub, and restaurants. The Santa Monica Pier is a must-see destination for those visiting Southern California. Malibu is located 24 miles away and along the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway and stretches for 27 miles along the coast. The beaches in Malibu are extra beautiful and well worth a visit. Other favorite destinations in Malibu:
Zuma Beach. Eat at the Reel Inn or Taverna Tony's (Greek). Visit Malibu Country Mart, a local hangout and wine tasting at Malibu Family Wines. Now taking a turn and going south from Villa Harmony. Manhattan Beach, a 15 minutes drive and one of our favorite destinations. The most upscale of the South Bay beach towns, Manhattan Beach's vibe is urban, with lots of volleyball nets, boutiques, restaurants, cafes a pier and surfers. The oceanfront homes, with paved walkways for pedestrians and bicycles are a sight of it's own. Hermosa Beach is the neighboring beach city with a softer touch and a more quiet vibe. Next Beach over is Redondo Beach. Kayaking, swimming, bike cycling and sport fishing are popular activities in Redondo. While visiting make sure to visit the Pier: fishermen's fishing poles all over the railing, and once in a while you'll see someone reel in a catch. You'll also find restaurants and fast-food stands here, along with souvenir shops. Keep driving south and you'll get to the Palos Verdes Peninsula. It has a spectacular coastline and views. It is a 26.3 square mile, located about 23 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. Hollywood is about a 13 mile drive Northeast, there are plenty of tourist attractions in Hollywood. Drive up to get a closer look at the Hollywood sign, there's plenty of parking to view the sign by Lake Hollywood Park. Sunset Ranch Hollywood, the ranch offers a variety of daily trail rides through Griffith Park. Park somewhere close or at Hollywood Blvd and walk on the sidewalks with all the stars and stop at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre to check out the hand and/or foot imprints. Other places to visit are, Hollywood Bowl, Roosevelt Hotel, and spend a day at my favorite amusement park, Universal Studios. Beverly Hills. Drive along Mulholland Drive and see spectacular views, you will also see the Hollywood Sign from the road. Spend a couple of hours and walk the walk of the privileged, the most famous high class street in the world, Rodeo Drive. Drive by and even stop at Beverly Hills Hotel, a true landmark of Beverly Hills. I don't think it is possible to get a better review than this one...
“This home deserves more than 5 stars. Even though we never met Helene, we felt the spirit of her generosity and thoughtfulness in every room. We don’t have small children, but I was impressed by the closet filled with games, a booster seat, and a baby gate. Another closet is filled with beach towels, an ice chest, reusable shopping bags, and even a hair straightener. The kitchen is supplied with all kinds of things that you wouldn’t expect: like the garlic press. I liked the welcome book with detailed instructions and advice on things to do. Helene has put a lot of love and thought into this home. There’s a genuine feeling of kindness and welcome that makes you feel less like a renter and more like a guest!”

Beautiful, tranquil home away from home!

My first experience renting a home from VBRO and I don’t think I want to go hotel after this experience. Helene was so responsive and accommodating. Even after check in she checked in with us periodically. The house itself is in the westchester area, so convenient to the airport, beach, shops, and groceries. The home was perfect for our family trip. We have a 1 and 3 year old and they had age appropriate toys, high chair, booster. Extra towels and washer and dryer were great for washing our clothes mid way the trip. Home is decorated with color and warmth. Back yard was well manicured and big enough for the small kids to run around, without worry. For our next LA trip, we will def stay here again! Thanks Helene!

Our latest 5 *review....
"This is the dream Air BnB experience: supremely comfortable beds (that are really beds rather than fold-outs, in three bedrooms with doors); an adorable stylish space that really feels like a home but is way more interesting and fashionable (and neat and clean!) than one's own; in a great, safe neighborhood with close walking access to grocery stores (organic and regular), restaurants and shops - close but not too close to the airport (so I didn't even have to rent a car - I used rideshares, though if one had a car there's also real off-street parking); a well-appointed kitchen that you could really cook a meal in, with coffee, tea, sugar, honey, salt, pepper, and a set of herbs/spices; a sunny bathroom with nice shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lots of towels (including a separate set for taking to the nearby beach!); private outdoor space with lighting and comfortable seating and lawn for hanging out in; easy check-in and check-out procedures; good WiFi and DirectTV (and clear instructions on how to use them); and thoughtful, generous extra touches like a welcoming bottle of wine and fresh fruit. Most of all, a friendly host who responds quickly, gives succinct, clear, and reasonable instructions for the space, and enjoys sharing wonderful, personalized tips on enjoying LA. I not only want to stay again, I definitely will! This is a great base of operations for a trip to LA, especially if you're planning on spending a lot of time in Venice, Santa Monica, or Marina del Rey, or visiting Loyola Marymount or Otis College of Design."
