Some of the most meaningful connections are made around the table. For Lyudmyla “Myla” Grynova, sharing her Ukrainian heritage with the residents of Twinbrook Assisted Living has become one of the most special parts of her work.
Myla has been part of Twinbrook for eight years, starting in the kitchen in 2018 and now serving residents in the dining room. She loves the happiness on their faces when they see her and the appreciation they show by taking the time to talk with her, thank her, and get to know her.
Every few months, Myla brings a taste of home to Twinbrook by preparing an authentic Ukrainian buffet. The residents love it so much that they ask her to make the foods she grew up with, and they talk about the special meals for weeks before and after. It’s more than a meal; it’s a chance for Myla to share a piece of her heritage while creating something meaningful for the people she cares for.
Day after day, Myla shows up with the same dedication, making sure residents feel cared for and have three wonderfully served meals to look forward to. Her warmth, reliability, and willingness to share what makes her unique make her truly Distinctively Deserving.
Thank you, Myla, for bringing your heart, your heritage, and your love of cooking to Twinbrook. We’re so grateful for all the ways you make mealtimes, and the community itself, more special.
