❓What is a "Qualified Guest" at the Moose?
Have you ever seen our event flyers say "Open to Members and Qualified Guests" and wondered exactly what that means? You aren't alone!
❗Because we operate as a private, tax-exempt fraternal organization under IRS rules, we have a specific guest policy to protect our lodge.
Here is the quick breakdown of what a Qualified Guest is and how you can bring your favorite people to the lodge!
🤔 Who Qualifies as a Guest?
Prospective Members: Any friend, neighbor, or coworker over 21 who is interested in checking out the lodge, as long as they are accompanied by an active member who can sponsor them.
(Immediate family members under 21 years old are always welcome to join you.)
📜 The "1, 2, 3" Rule for Future Members
For guests who are over 21, think of their visits like this:
First Visit: You're a Guest! 😊
Second Visit: You're a Friend!
👋Third Visit: Time to become a Member! 🫎To keep our non-profit status safe, prospective members are limited to two visits to experience our amazing community, social quarters, and events. By the third visit, they must sign up to join the family!
🙋‍♂️ Quick Rules for Sponsors (Active Members)
The Log Book: You must sign your guest into the visitor register at the door before entering.
The Tab: Non-members cannot make purchases. Active members must make all purchases for their guests.
Stick Together: Your guest must stay with you while at the lodge and leave when you leave.
Note on Expired Members: If someone's membership has lapsed, they unfortunately cannot come in as a guest—but we’d love to help them renew at the bar!
😍Bringing guests is the absolute best way to grow our lodge.
