William Peck is a lay historian of the Soldiers' Orphan Schools program and has been associated with Scotland School for Veterans Children his entire life. He will speak on the "Pennsylvania Soldiers' Orphan Schools 1864 - 2009", with a focus on Perry County and other central Pa SOS.
Mr. Peck's legacy to this program extends from his parents who were graduates of Scotland School in 1942 and 1950, along with multiple ancestors who attended other both Scotland School and other Orphan schools going back to 1899 (on both sides). He is a 1981 West Point graduate and is currently a data analyst at the US Naval Academy. He is on a quest to preserve the legacy of the Pennsylvania Soldiers Orphan Schools Program. He grew up in Chambersburg and currently lives in Bel Air, Maryland.

Today Jennifer Lyons Campbell and I finished up with Spring window cleaning. What gorgeous clear weather for this! AND we had Terra Barchet Brownback youngest granddaughter as our assistant. She was doing her share!

This recent baby shower weekend included perfect April weather, family and friends reunion, delish and beautiful food, and a Passover Seder feast in the parlor. Flowers were blooming, the sun was shining.
All our best wishes to the mom and dad and baby will be arriving soon.

Some behind the scenes

Terra Barchet Brownback L (your host) and Jennifer Lyons Campbell R (our awesome housekeeper) have been hard at it with day 2 of 3 deep cleaning attic and the 3 floors below top to bottom. Before spring outdoor activities begin, cold winter days are perfect for these annual tasks. We're making our way down the list of to-do's. GOOD TEAMWORK makes for smooth sailing and another fine day. Thanks always to Jenny; she keeps the house clean and tidy week to week.
