We are crazy about birds at and wanted to give you all a heads up on a very special and exclusive in nearby in 2023. People from all over the world every year try to get these puffin tour tickets. They only allow 12 people from the USA and 12 people from Canada to go on the Machias Seal Island puffin tour daily. The tickets go on sale this January 17th at 9am. Last year they were sold out for the season.

Located just 10 miles to the southeast of the coastal town of Cutler, Machias Seal Island is a wonder for bird lovers and adventurers alike.

It’s the largest Atlantic puffin nesting colony along the entire Maine coast.

Machias Seal Island is a disputed island (with both Canada and the United States claiming ownership), but it’s an important nesting site for not only Atlantic puffins, but also razorbills, common murres, and other seabirds.

Everyday during the nesting season, a handful of lucky visitors from ports in the U.S. and Canada make landfall on Machias Seal Island to see the birds up close.

Special bird blinds afford up-close, world-class views of colorful puffins (or sea parrots) and other nesting birds.
