We are always grateful for the show the skies present to us all year. This season is no different--from a June sunset over Hamlin Lake, to a July squall line advancing over the boathouse, and a September sunrise over Middle Bayou. It never gets old.

I caught these whitetails taking a morning crossing across Middle Bayou yesterday. I'd like to think it was the same half dozen feeding on spilled birdseed at the resort the day before.

Hear us out....we know it will be cold, but imagine being surrounded by a few friends and the quiet sounds of nature. Then you look up and see shooting stars streaking across the sky! Make a wish!

Catch the biggest meteor shower of the year - the Geminids - on December 13 and 14 in the eastern sky. You could see up to 120 meteors per hour!

Find the BEST place to see the shower by visiting a Dark Sky Preserve in a state park! Find the one nearest you by visiting the link in the comments.
