It's the most wonderful time of the year! Merry Christmas and happy New Year's wishes to everyone. Our guests have a knack for wiggling their way into our hearts and turning into extended family. Chris and I always love having you in our warm and comfortable home away from home. We have exciting plans for more new inn updates along with new sweet winter treats.

Our Candlelite Inn gift certificate special is running through the rest of the year, and you can also send or receive an online gift certificate immediately. Here is to a fantastic 2021, and to enjoying all the little things.

Our family has been taking this spring to reflect, relax and enjoy each other's company. We have been whirling away in the kitchen perfecting new treats as our baking binges continue. Any day that is sunny has been a great one to play outside and work around the inn.

Hope that all of our friends who come here, and we do sure enjoy having you and we all miss you, are doing the same. Stay happy and healthy and safe, and we look forward to seeing everyone's smiling faces soon.

May everyone enjoy an incredible 2020 filled with much laughter and love. We are so lucky to be able to hear and share giggles with our amazing guests every day.

We've baked hundreds of holiday cookies and treats for our guests, and just celebrated the New Year and the lovely Erica's birthday. Now we are planning new treats including cooking class weekends with Chef Warren. Happy New Year everyone!

Every November is half off at Candlelite Inn Bed & Breakfast for the military. This special applies to active duty and retired veterans alike. We love having you here to relax and to enjoy some very special time away.

If you haven't been here for awhile, you will find some yummy new desserts and can see our latest guest projects.

Tomorrow we give away one complimentary room night to one of our veterans. What a beautiful time of year it is! The Big Sable Lighthouse is again open for climbing, the SS Badger is sailing, and Bortell's Fisheries and Kilwins are ready and waiting.

There is never a dull moment around here, which is just the way we like it. Being the busiest quiet season yet,. there have been two recent proposals, lots of memorable celebrations, and so many guests just needing a fun filled getaway. It is such a treat to be a part of these events.

We hope you can escape to visit us and unwind soon. Your freshly baked desserts will be waiting along with everything else. Also, there are some great new board games on the front porch for everyone to enjoy!

Happy Pi Day!!! I have some great college memories of Pi Day which involve devouring luscious slices of homemade pies with some unbelievably special ladies. My mom Irene has been sharing her numerous pie secrets, and is the best pie baker I have ever known. Her mom was a pastry and dessert chef, so that could have a little something to do with it.

It's been fun for us to offer a freshly prepared pie as another unexpected guest surprise. You know we always like to have special new updates and new delicious treats to share. Hopefully, we will see you soon to both quench that spring fever and to indulge in a delicious slice of pie, or one of our other yummy homemade desserts.

We are just a week away from our very first West Michigan Bed & Breakfast Christmas Cookie Tour! Our guests joined in yesterday to get our beautiful tree all decked out, and after two days of decorating outside, the lights are looking merry and bright.

For guests of our cookie tour, the perks just keep coming. For $25.00 per person, tour up to nine inns from Whitehall to Bear Lake (four here in Ludington), with local pop up shops at most. Besides a spectacular custom ornament and collecting freshly baked cookies plus cookie recipes, many local businesses are offering discounts or specials. We are so thankful to so many for their overwhelming support.

At the moment, we still have some availability for the weekend of Dec. 8th, but only have the Romantic Retreat Suite open for the weekend of Dec. 15th. Take the climb to the top of Ludington's 150 year old Big Sable Lighthouse on us! We have complimentary tickets for our guests to enjoy free admission to one of the four area SPLKA lighthouses. Normally, this would be a $5.00 per person fee.

This includes the Ludington North Breakwater which is less than a mile away, and the Big Sable in our incredible Ludington State Park. We sure hope to see you soon!
