What do you think?! Would YOU ride the ferry down to Solomons Island to come visit Southern MD Waffle House 1.5 acres of cozy coastal living ?👀
🚢 A Chesapeake Bay ferry system is moving closer to reality with a potential launch before 2030. After a feasibility study confirmed it could work, five Maryland counties are continuing to push the project forward as an alternative to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, currently the only direct crossing. 🌉 Proposed routes would connect places like Annapolis, Chesapeake Beach, Solomons, and Crisfield, with seasonal service (May–September) expected to carry around 50,000 riders each year and generate an estimated $111 million in regional economic impact. 🌊 The plan now includes hybrid-electric ferries (about 50 passengers each), aiming to reduce environmental impact while supporting tourism and local businesses. Funding, permitting, and infrastructure planning are still underway at the local, state, and federal levels, but momentum is building. Would you take a ferry across the Bay instead of driving? ⛴️
