HOWDY, all!
We just closed the books on our 1st Spring Break since being back open. We can’t tell you how great it was to see so much life and activity back in the park! We are very much looking forward to the excitement and energy that comes along with the season. The 2021 season is going to be great! If you haven’t already made your reservations for Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day, now is the time to do so. The campground is filling up quickly! GOOD NEWS, our newly remodeled cabins are going to be ready for rent starting May 1. Reservations can be made by phone or through our website at www.big-creek-marina.com. Come see us!

UPDATE #2: we are now taking reservations online!! Visit www.big-creek-marina.com and click on “Book Now” to make your reservations. You can also call us during office hours Wednesday-Sunday from 8-5 to make reservations as well.
UPDATE! I know many of you have already reached out through Facebook trying to make reservations because you were unable to reach us by phone. As of this moment, our phones are now up and running!!! Please call in to reserve your space(s)! If no one answers, please leave a voicemail and your call will be returned.

Great news, friends! As of tomorrow, Big Creek Campground will be OPEN for business!!!! Please bear with us as this is a partial reopen and we are training new employees on the fly. The store is not open, so please plan accordingly. With that, Sites 80-100 are open for reservations. We are experiencing some phone issues and expect to have them resolved by noon tomorrow, so please be patient with us as we get things back up and running.
As always, we appreciate your patience over the years and are looking forward to welcoming our loyal customers back and also to a full reopen in the future.

I know many of you are wanting an update on the reopening of Big Creek, so here it is....and it’s not the update you (or we) want to hear. As of today, the lake has breached the slab of the store again. With the weather forecast looking ahead, we expect the worst is yet to come. We were on target to reopen later this summer, but yet again, God has another plan.
Thank you all for your patience and for sticking with us through the years of repeated devastation. We will continue to post updates at they are available.

Just to update everyone on the status of Big Creek and dispel any rumors that are flying around (some more believable than others)...repairs are currently underway. Same ownership. We do not currently have an eta for reopening but we will post something to here on our FB page as soon as a definitive date can be projected. We thank you for your patience as we complete repairs and reconstruction! We are extra thankful for the countless messages, texts, phone calls, and emails inquiring about reopening and what can be done to help. We have tried to respond to them all but I'm sure there have been some missed. For now, we are working as expeditiously as possible to reopen after 2 years of being closed and as many destructive floods. Please continue to check our FB page for updates.

Sad news friends! Lake Somerville received 19"+ yesterday and even more through the night....still raining now....more coming! Much like we were this time last year, we are flooded again. These photos are from today and the water has risen another foot since they were taken. The lake is now 3.5' from reaching the spillway.
We were getting closer to being able to open but we find ourselves here again. Please pray for all those affected with these rains. The City of Somerville has been affected this round as well, so it's not just those of us on the upstream side of the dam.

There should never be a reason to even have to post this, but it appears that some people have zero respect for what doesn't belong to them. Bottom line, if the park is locked it means you are not allowed to enter. The remnants of what remains in the park also do not belong to you. Please show some respect. Once the adjusters have assessed damages, we will begin cleanup efforts. If there is anything left to salvage, we (the owners) will determine where those items are distributed. This is not a free-for-all. For those of you who would never be so bold as to steal what doesn't belong to you, in embarrassed and sorry that you have to read this post. For those of you who arent so respectful, see Bart's message below:

Thank you all for your patience and support as the water subsides. Currently, we remain unable to get into the park to assess the damages. Not knowing what we are up against, we have refunded all reservations for the rest of 2015 and also those we had on the books for 2016. Thanks again all!
