The Grand Ole Hoopee is Back.
Some places are more than just a structure—they become part of the memories we make.
For years, the Grand Ole Hoopee was where friends gathered, live music echoed across the river, karaoke brought out the hidden talent in all of us, movies played under the stars, and countless memories were made. It wasn't just a stage. It was part of the heart of our campground.
When Hurricane Helene came through in the fall of 2024, one of the hardest losses was seeing that stage destroyed.
Thankfully, because our event pavilion had been built just months before, many of those traditions were able to continue. Karaoke, community events, and gatherings found a new home, reminding us that even after difficult seasons, there is always room for new beginnings.
But some traditions are simply too special to leave behind.
Over the past few weeks, we've been hard at work building a brand-new riverside stage.
And when it came time to give it a name, there was only one person we wanted to ask.
Mr. Billy, the campground's founder, once again gave it the name so many campers have known and loved...
The Grand Ole Hoopee
It feels like the perfect way to honor the campground's history while looking ahead to all the memories still waiting to be made.
The stage is finished. Now all we're missing is the music.
Who would you love to see perform at the Grand Ole Hoopee? Tag your favorite local artist or band in the comments—we're always looking for great talent.
Here's to honoring the past, celebrating our resilience, and filling the river with music once again.
