Rivendown Farm Cottage Rivendown Farm Cottage is a former artist's studio which has been completely rebuilt and refurbished into open concept living.

Artist, Judith Nelson, well-known for her geometric prints, lived and worked in the studio. Guests at the Farm ay partake in forested areas on the 30-acre property: trails, blueberry fields, a duck and geese nesting area, native apple trees, a kayak/canoe launch, and a shoreline leading to Machias Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors will enjoy the changing tides, as well as the tranqu

il and peaceful setting of meadows filled with wild flowers. From the shore one can view clearly the Village of Machiasport across the Narrows, with its church steeple and historic harbor area, including Liberty Hall, Gates House, and Captain Cates House.

Rivendown Farm closedduring the early days of the Covid 19 Pandemic and will not be opening again. Thank you to all our wonderful people who visited there.

Rivendown Farm Cottage has closed! Hugh and I have moved back to New Hampshire to be closer to our grandchild. We miss Machiasport, but no longer rent our cozy cottage. Thank you all whom we met over the years!

In July, living in Maine is often like living in a painting. After being on the water all day, I am falling into bed and letting my friend Peter take the wheel with a picture that captures the wonder around us in these magical summer days. I'll see you tomorrow.

This weekend a sweet young couple from Vermont is staying at the Cottage while intending to hike our great area trails as well as kick back and relax in cool coastal temperatures.

Well, the snow is almost completely melted and Hugh and I are getting ready to start cleaning up after all of the snowplow trips over the lawn. It won't be long before all of the grass is green, the Cottage is cleaned, and the interesting guests arrive at Rivendown Farm Cottage for the year 2015!
