In Loving Memory of Olivia “Livy” Scholly
Madison, GA | July 23, 1985 - August 4, 2025
It is with deep sadness and great love that we remember Olivia “Livy” Scholly, who passed away on Monday following a series of strokes. Livy was just 40 years old and a beloved member of our community here at The Farmhouse Inn. Despite facing lifelong health challenges, Livy radiated strength and creativity in everything she touched.
Livy first connected with us through her delicious homemade quiches, blueberry crumb muffins, and croissants — baked goods that captured both heart and craft. It didn’t take long before she became an integral part of our team, helping bring new life to the gardens at the inn during our earliest days of renovation and restoration after our purchase in 2021.
A natural gardener with a deep intuitive connection to plants, Livy planted many of the original flowers that still bloom today at the inn. The vibrant life in our gardens — from radiant sunflowers to fragrant herbs — continues to grow from seeds she lovingly harvested and nurtured. Her vegetable beds were a reflection of her: productive and full of care.
Livy was also a talented baker. Her recipes for scones, chocolate cakelets, and pumpkin tea cake are treasured staples of our table and our hearts. Every bite of these treats continues to carry her legacy.
In May 2024, Livy suffered a stroke that affected her vision. In the months that followed, she endured a series of further strokes with immense courage. Her passing is a heartbreaking loss for everyone who knew and worked with her. Yet her influence lives on — in the blooms she coaxed from soil, the food that still brings people together, and the countless moments of quiet beauty she created in our shared spaces.
Livy’s spirit will always remain in our garden paths and in every lovingly made scone we share.
She will be missed and forever remembered.
