Looking for generous people to help support Maggie Valley's local high school Tuscola Air Force Junior ROTC cadets. My sons Sam and Jacob were former cadets, and at that time I was the booster club president so I am intimately familiar with this program. For those unfamiliar with a JROTC program, just know it's a cadet led program with a primary mission of "developing citizens of character." I am very excited about helping our young adults become citizens of character! I too am a AFJROTC cadet from my high school years and I am proud to say that I still reap benefits of lessons taught to me all those years ago.
September 27, 2025, will be their inaugural golf tournament at the Maggie Valley Club & Resort. A Holiday Motel is a committed sponsor and we'd love it if you would help the cadets by being a sponsor too! You can show your support a few different ways...

So happy to see Dale's Wheels Through Time getting back open so soon!!!

Dale’s Wheels Through Time will reopen on Thursday, October 10th after being closed following Hurricane Helene. We are excited to welcome visitors and friends back to the museum and continue a great fall season sharing the history of the American motorcycle.

Hours of operation are Thursday to Monday 10 am to 5 pm. The museum encourages visitors to check road closures and lodging availability before traveling to the area.

The museum will also be holding locals day on each Saturday in October with free admission to Haywood county residents.

UPDATE : As you probably know, on Friday of last week, Maggie Valley and the surrounding regions were hit with devastating floods as Hurricane Helene passed through the area. Thankfully, the museum, our staff, and the collections are safe. The museum is currently closed for daily operations as this event has rippled the infrastructure here; roads, power, internet, and phones were all dramatically affected. When we have established a reopening date, we will send out an email and post it on all our social media platforms. Until then, we are asking for your help. The fall season is one of the busiest times of the year for tourism-related businesses in Western North Carolina, and without the steady stream of visitors, many businesses will feel the impact. As our way of helping our community, we will donate a portion of all online proceeds during the month of October to local flood relief efforts.

TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY...
Holiday Motel is OK and open for business. I know many of you have called, emailed, messaged, and even drove in to check in on us, and for that we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Unfortunately for many here in Maggie the flood waters have damaged or destroyed their homes and/or businesses. Please continue to pray for those who've been affected by this catastrophe.
