Only a a few miles from the cabin is a beautiful 3 mile hike at Panther Den Wilderness. ✨

About 1.5 miles in you’ll find the highlight of the hike - towering rock formations with crevices and slots you can explore. You’ll also get to hike a portion of the River to River trail as it shares some trail, see bluffage, and cross creeks.

We recommend using AllTrails and downloading the map. It’s easy to get turned around and cell coverage is spotty at best.

Wildflower Cabin 💛🌼 We have to admit - we had the most fun creating this cabin. From sunrise to sunset, Wildflower is the perfect place to stay if you’re into whimsical details, love a good patio & fire pit, and want to watch the stars from the hot tub 💫

Blue Heron Cabin 💙 Tucked in between the pond and lake, it’s the perfect spot to watch actual Blue Herons glide in and land at the lake. Or relax in the hot tub and star gaze. Or sit around the fire pit and relax. Or whatever you like! It’s the perfect home away from home while you enjoy Southern Illinois.

It’s almost daffodil season! (Or, as we like to call them - Daffies) 🌼 Every Spring in Southern Illinois you can find them everywhere you drive or hike, blooming alongside the roads and trails. And we have a huge area on the property that gives us both yellow and white Daffies!

Apparently, in the 1940’s and 50’s there was a large production of daffodils and other flowers across Southern Illinois, with many of them being transported by train from Cobden, IL to other Midwest states.

We don’t know the exact reason why we have daffodils everywhere at The Cabins at Sunrise Hill but it sure makes Spring even more special here! 💛
