A little house with a big story. Our 1920 bungalow at 701 Broadway on Longboat Key once stepped in as a temporary post office after the 1920 Sarasota hurricane, when the island needed a place for the mail to land. She is rebuilt and reimagined, and she is still the sweetest stop on Broadway.

Two king suites, a lagoon pool and hot tub, palms overhead, and Sarasota Bay a block away. Walk to Whitney Beach. See every star at night! Fully furnished, and open now through the end of December.

Walk to the beach or the bay every day. Just 2.5 months of fall still open. Grateful to look after these little 1940 cottages in Longbeach Village, the first settled corner of Longboat Key. Imagine the old fishermen coming ashore in longboats, drying nets where the palms are now. THIS is the corner cross streets where Thomas Mann homesteaded this ground in 1891, grew pineapples and citrus, and lived in a thatched hut.

By 1911 it was a real village: a hotel, a Broadway dock, and the Mistletoe steamer tying up with mail and supplies. Same shell paths. Same gulf light. And, NO clannish condo HOA commandos!
