Ash Street Inn has been standing since 1885.
Not restored to perfection. Preserved with intention.

Six guest rooms throughout the house.
Twelve seats downstairs.
Dinner is served three nights a week.

It’s not a hotel.
It’s not just a restaurant.
It’s a place that’s meant to be lived in, even if only for a night.

Mornings are quiet.
Evenings have a way of unfolding on their own.

If you’ve been, you understand.
If you haven’t, we’ll have a room ready.

Curiosities, from Ash.

1970s Italy gave us this—an Oryk floating bar by Vittorio Parigi and Nani Prina. Molded plastic, chrome legs, ice tucked neatly inside. Portable, practical, and just strange enough to be perfect.

“It is ugly and weird and awesome.” —

We agree.

Still pouring.

We’re honored to be featured by the New Hampshire Union Leader.

What we’re building at Ash Street Inn + Ash was never meant to be typical—just something intentional. A place to stay, a place to gather, and an experience meant to be shared.

Grateful to everyone who’s taken a seat at the table or stayed the night with us so far.

Today feels like a beginning.

After months of quiet work, Ash Street Inn is open once again—reimagined, refined, and ready to be experienced. Every room has been thoughtfully redesigned, layered with warmth, texture, and intention.

We’re now welcoming reservations.

If you’ve stayed with us before, you’ll find something familiar—but entirely new. And if this is your first time, we’d be honored to have you.

Eleven Years, Countless Memories, and a New Chapter

It’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed. These photos were taken when we were just beginning our journey as innkeepers and stewards of The Ash Street Inn aka The Grande Dame—without fully realizing how meaningful the years ahead would become.

After cracking approximately 15,000 eggs and welcoming around 7,500 amazing guests, we’ve made the bittersweet decision to sell the inn and move on to our next chapter.

The Ash Street Inn is now closed for the holiday season.

The new owners will be undertaking some remodeling and plan to reopen in the spring. We are confident the Grande Dame is in good hands and wish them every success as they begin their new journey and make the property their own.

If you’ve enjoyed our food posts and photos over the years, you can continue following along by connecting with Rob on Facebook at .

Thank you to everyone who has stayed with us, supported us, and shared in the life of the inn. It has truly been an honor to be part of your travels and celebrations and we will always treasure the memories, the stories and the friendships. It has been a wonderful time.

Merry Christmas.and Happy holidays,

Margit and Rob
