Happy , campers! This week’s campground takes us to a spot in the Sunshine State, where flip-flops are basically required footwear and every day ends with a beautiful sunset.

This KOA has all the comforts you want for a camping getaway, from a 24/7 laundry facility to hot showers to Wi-Fi. When it comes to recreation, the real star of the show is this KOA's creek access. Bring your fishing gear to see what you can catch or rent a kayak and float down the creek all the way to the Gulf! Other great amenities include a pool and hot tub open 24 hours a day, plenty of games like horseshoe and shuffleboard and a KampK9 for your four-legged friends.

Outside of camp, you're perfectly positioned for beach days and Gulf Coast exploration. Spend your time taking in shoreline views, browsing local shops and restaurants, or planning a day out on the water - then come back to camp for an easy evening under the palms!

Calling anglers of all ages: Utah’s annual Free Fishing Day is Sat., June 6. Head up to Moose Pond on the Ashley National Forest and try your luck at fishing for the day – no fishing license required! Forest Service staff will be there from 9 a.m. to noon with extra fishing gear for kids to borrow.

Directions from Vernal, UT

The trip to Moose Pond takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes from Vernal:

1. Travel North: Head north from Vernal on US-191 N for approximately 36 miles.

2. Stay straight and continue onto UT-44 at the intersection of US-191 N and UT-44

3. Continue on UT-44 for about 18.5 miles. The Moose Pond site and parking area will be located on your left.
