Camp Little Deer

Camp Little Deer Officially CLOSED December 2017. 30acre Girl Scout Camp in Manistee County. Located 1 mile south of Red Apple on Wildwood Rd. Seasonal use only.

Situated on 30 wooded acres south of Manistee is Camp Little Deer. Originally purchased by then Manistee Girl Scout Council in 1961, the camp's primitive nature has been intentionally preserved over the years. It is ideal for Scouts who are ready to take outdoor experiences to the next level. The property is available to Scouts & public groups for primitive camping. There is no electricity or running water available (hand pump only). Reservations required.

Camp Little Deer has PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
UPDATE : Property is now under Private Ownership and will no longer be run as a camp. It is considered a private property. All Girl Scout items have been removed and distributed to other GSMISTS properties. Thank you for your support of our wonderful property.

Cleanup CANCELLED due to rain! If your troop would like to plan your own cleanup that would be greatly appreciated!
To Do List;
1. Rake around pavilion at least 4-5feet
2. Rake and clean Friendship Pole Area back to trees
3. Rake around storage building at least 4-5 feet.
4. Rake trail to Chalet, Move any downed trees/logs at least 4-5 feet from trail.
5. Clear trail from Deer Trails Campsite to Chalet Trail.
6. Transfer any cut timber to campsites stack for firewood
7. Clear any cut brush by moving it back in the forest or at least 5ft off paths/trails.
Enjoy the camp- water is potable;)
