Happy 4th of July! What are your plans today? In 1910, these folks rode the Manitou Incline – a 16-minute scenic trip to the top of Mount Manitou. Of course, this year, the 4th of July has even deeper significance as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence (DOI). What does the DOI mean to you in 2026? Whatever you do to celebrate today, please stay safe, and have a very Happy 4th of July!

As of noon today (6/29/2026) Manitou Springs is in Stage 2 Fire Restrictions. This is especially important as we approach the holiday weekend. Please remember that Fireworks remain illegal in Colorado Spring and Manitou.

STAGE 2 Restrictions:
No open burning or campfires
No fireworks
No outdoor smoking (except in enclosed spaces)
No equipment that sparks or flames
Even a small spark can cause a fast-moving wildfire. Stay alert and follow all restrictions.
