Expect lots of crazy CARNIVALE FUN in Manitou Springs this Saturday, March 1st!
There will be "good times rolling" as only a quirky mountain town can celebrate a day like Carnivale. Wear an outrageous costume, a feathered sparkly mask, decorate yourself with layers of beads or just come to watch and cheer the merriment.
Twenty cooks and chefs will compete for awards as they participate in a MUMBO JUMBO GUMBO Cook-Off in Soda Springs Park. They'll be ready to let you taste what they have stewed at 11:00 am! Help choose which plucky chef earns the honor of winning the prestigious People's Choice Award.
And oh, what an unbelievable parade will march up Manitou Avenue at 1:00 pm!! Costumed marchers and dancers and some very silly floats will assemble in the park, then line up behind our classic *C*A*R*N*I*V*A*L*E" letter bearers who begin the parade. Yes, it is an honor to carry one of those letters, so expect to see the mayor and other notables carrying them proudly.
Bands will play enthusiastically and costumed belly dancers will amaze the crowd. Giant puppets will tower over those who come to celebrate. After the parade, enjoy our pubs, bars, restaurants and shops until well after sundown.
Blue Skies Inn welcomes our registered guests to check in as early as 10:00 am so their cars can be left in our parking lot as guests join the celebration downtown. Yes, we still have some rooms left for the weekend! Enjoy our special off-season rates and let the good times roll at playful Blue Skies!!
