Members of Mansfield Lodge #543 proudly presented a check to the Mansfield Lion Share Backpack Program for $10,500! Members of Mansfield Lodge #543 made generous donations, and those funds were sent to the Missouri Masonic Home, which has a program called the Creating a Partnership program that will triple the funds that are raised, allowing them to donate a grand total of $10,500 to provide food for school children to take home in the Mansfield School District.

On behalf of the Mansfield Masonic Lodge I just wanted to give the community a quick update and a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to the aluminum can collection.

To date we have collected and sold $1,526.41 worth of aluminum cans. We send that money to the Masonic Home of Missouri who triples it and sends it back for a grand total of $4,579.23. 100% of that money has been donated either to the Mansfield school backpack program which provides food for children to take home on the weekends or used to provide winter coats to any school children that are in need of a coat by way of the school nurse who distributes those. The sign says “shoes”, however for the past few years shoes have been thankfully provided by other organizations so we have focused this charity on the backpack program and winter coats.

We have temporarily relocated the can collection site a few hundred feet up the street to Randy’s Tire for the time being. As a reminder we can ONLY accept aluminum cans. Please DO NOT leave any tin (food) cans, cat food cans, plastic, glass, clothing, or trash. This drive is taken care of by volunteers who have to pick through and separate all of the other items listed above that are frequently left. Again, aluminum cans only please.

Thank you again for all of the donations and help supporting a great cause for our community.

Today Mansfield Masonic Lodge #543 was pleased to present Mansfield R-4 School District with 24 new coats purchased for students in need. This was made possible by donations from members of Mansfield Masonic Lodge #543 and earnings made from our aluminum can recycling drop off location “ located in the parking lot of Corder Heating and Air behind Town And Country supermarket in Mansfield”. A special thanks to everyone who has helped contribute to our aluminum can drive and to the members of Mansfield Masonic Lodge #543 for their generosity.

We have had several people reach out asking about Sammy‘s window so here is some info on the services they offer.

One of the most common struggles for foster parents is a lack of support as they care for youth who have experienced abuse or neglect. Missouri provides the second lowest stipend for foster parents in the entire US, while Kansas offers the seventh lowest. Without adequate resources, individuals and families sadly find themselves unable to take in children in need of a safe, loving home. Sammy’s Window provides a wide variety of free items to lift the tangible burden of caring for youth who are in foster care or have been adopted. Through the ongoing help of community donations, FosterAdopt Connect stocks items for all stages of child development. Depending on location, this may include: New or gently used, clean clothing,New or gently used shoes, New socks and underwear, Hygiene products, Diapers, Formula, Dry goods, New or like new books, New toys, Baby equipment, and School supplies.
