We are excited to share that Sunset Surf Motel will be under new ownership starting October 10, 2025. As part of this exciting new chapter, the new ownership group will temporarily close the property to begin a full renovation and upgrade of the property.

The property will be closed from October 10, 2025 and is scheduled to re-open in May 2026 with brand new accommodations, improved amenities, and an enhanced guest experience that the new ownership group cannot wait to share with you.

We truly appreciate your past support and look forward to the new ownership group continuing the Sunset Surf experience and welcoming everyone back to the new and improved experience in May 2026.

Dear all our guests,

We are still without power (as of yesterday afternoon), and unfortunately our local power company, Tillamook PUD has not given us any indication of when the power will return. Until the power returns, we will not be able to answer phone/email for the time being. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to everyone during their holiday travels.

If you are unable to make it, or would like to cancel your reservation, please send us an email, and we will process the refunds as soon as we are able to do so.

Are you visiting the Oregon Coast? You should know:
➡️ Each county and city has different public health orders. Be informed and follow them — they may be different than where you live.
➡️ Face coverings are required statewide indoors and outdoors when physical distance can’t be maintained. Be prepared to wear a face covering and dispose of them properly.
➡️ Trash has become a problem. Pack out everything you bring, including food containers, gloves and face coverings.
➡️ Park operations are reduced and closures can happen unexpectedly.
➡️ Facilities such as restrooms may be limited. When nature calls, have a plan, even if that means packing out your waste and tissue — the same goes for your dog, too.
➡️ Cars that block emergency access or driveways can be towed. Park your car in designated areas only, and have a backup plan if the parking lot is full.
➡️ Leaving designated trails threatens ecosystems. Stay on trails and don’t create new ones.
➡️ Coastal businesses are small. Your patience and manners are needed as they work hard to keep you and their employees safe.
➡️ The Oregon Coast is one of a kind. Please explore responsibly, so this special place can be enjoyed for generations to come.

**Update**
We will be opening up again on May 29th, 2020. However, per Tillamook County guidelines we will be limiting our occupancy, and the swimming pool will be closed until further notice.

**Update**
On April 22th, 2020, Tillamook County Board of Commissioners has extended the State of Emergency from April 28th to May 15th, 2020. Under the new extension, we will be closed until May 14th, 2020 and plan on opening again on May 15th, 2020.

Starting tomorrow, March 23, we will be closed until further notice in accordance with the City of Manzanita's orders. If you have any reservations with us in the next few weeks, we will be reaching out to you today and tomorrow to refund the deposits or make modifications to the reservation dates to a later time in the year. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy, and practice social distancing. We hope this will all pass soon and look forward to welcoming our guests when we return.
