To all of our friends, family and past guests
Thank you for a fabulous journey for nearly 28 years as innkeepers. Many of you have visited Squiers Manor so many times that we’ve become close friends. And some of you have been here only once. But regardless, everyone has left an indelible mark on our hearts. We’ve been able to share and experience each other’s joys, adventures, and sometimes sorrows. We’ve laughed together and cried together and prayed together. We’ve shared stories of our travels, family stories, job experiences, and just every day life around the breakfast table. Virl and I thank each and every one of you for allowing us to be a part of your life for a while. If you’re in the area sometime, please give us a call. We would love to meet again over a cup of coffee. Feel free to call Kathy at 563-580-9391
Squiers Manor will continue to operate as a bed and breakfast with the new owners Nathan and Rudd who are transplants from Los Angeles to Maquoketa. Nathan is a film-maker and Rudd is a master of arts and antiquities. They are excited to begin their journey as innkeepers effective this weekend. They are not planning on any major changes to Squiers and we hope you will come back and experience Squiers Manor again with the new innkeepers. We wish them well!
To all of our support staff, both current and past, a HUGE thank you for all you’ve done for Squiers Manor Bed and Breakfast and for Virl and I. We could not have done this without you but more importantly, each of you have also contributed to the atmosphere at Squiers Manor Bed and Breakfast. Guests have continually commented to us how lucky we are to have such wonderful and loyal people working for us. You’ve been more like family to us than employees over the years. Thanks again.
Finally, thank you to all those friends and family members who have supported us in so many ways over the years and especially now as we begin a new chapter of our lives together.

It is absolute truth! It's not possible to visit Squiers Manor and not leave absolutely loving Kathy and Virl!
If your one of those people who shy away from a Bed and Breakfast because of the social interaction, you should really give it a chance! The people you meet are quite interesting, fascinating even! Kathy and Virl are two terrific hosts!
