1.25.26 @ 8:02AM - ROAD CONDITIONS ⚠️

As of this morning, road conditions are continuing to worsen. Below are roads that are currently closed/impassable:

- Highway 136 / Monument Road - Impassable due to ice
- Highway 53E / Steve Tate Road - Impassable due to ice
- The Wood Bridge - Closed due to ice
- Highway 53W @ Jerusalem Church Road - Extremely icy conditions reported by GDOT
- Hill City Road between Highway 53 & Hill Circle - CLOSED due to power line across roadway. (6:50AM)
- Firetower Road - Tree Down near 415
- All roads in Big Canoe - Extremely hazardous due to icy conditions.

We urge everyone to stay off the roads as conditions are expected to worsen into the evening while temperatures continue to drop.

Due to the weather forecast of an upcoming winter storm for our immediate area on Saturday and Sunday 1.24.26 and 1.25.26, we are recommending travel to our area may need to be postponed until after the winter storm passes.

FALL FESTIVALS IN NORTH GEORGIA

October 2025

• Georgia Mountain Fall Festival: The event at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee will take place over two weekends: October 10-12 and October 16-18.
• Georgia Apple Festival: Located in Ellijay, this festival celebrates all things apple and is held on October 11–12 and 18–19.
• Prater's Mill Country Fair: This fair in Dalton takes place on October 11–12.
• Gold Rush Days Festival: Dahlonega's downtown festival celebrating the discovery of gold in Georgia happens on October 19–20.
• Helen Oktoberfest: From October 1st to November 2nd, 2025 Helen hosts its popular Oktoberfest celebration.
• Chalktoberfest: This arts and crafts festival will be held in Marietta on October 11–12.
• Georgia Marble Festival: Head to Jasper for this festival dedicated to Georgia's unique marble. October 4-5
• Stone Mountain Park Pumpkin Festival: The festival at Stone Mountain Park will run from October 17-19.
