This Father's Day, I want to celebrate the man who started it all.

Forty years ago, my dad, Peter Conway, opened the doors of Harbor Light Inn and created something truly special. What began as a vision became not only a beloved inn, but a place filled with memories, traditions, and countless friendships.

To me, he's always been much more than the founder. He's been my inspiration, mentor, and the heart of this business for decades. His business savvy is second to none, his quick wit can light up any room, and he's undoubtedly the world's best storyteller. Whether he's sharing the history of Marblehead, entertaining guests with a tale, or offering advice, people naturally gravitate toward him.

The values that have guided Harbor Light Inn for the past 40 years (hospitality, hard work, and genuine connection) are a reflection of who he is.

Dad, thank you for building something so meaningful and for showing me what it means to lead with passion, humor, and heart. I hit the jackpot being your daughter.

Forty years ago today, Peter & Suzanne Conway opened the doors to Harbor Light Inn with a simple belief: that every guest deserves to feel at home.

Four decades later, their daughter Carolyn carries that same warmth forward — the same family spirit & the same commitment to making Marblehead feel like your place on the North Shore.

This anniversary isn't just about us. It's about every guest who's come back year after year, every couple who celebrated here, every family who made this their tradition, and everyone who has been part of our team through the years.
