There’s nothing quite like witnessing baby sea turtles make their very first journey to the Gulf. If you’re hoping to experience this unforgettable moment in Marco Island, here’s the best way to do it respectfully and responsibly. 🌙🌊

Best Time to See Hatchlings
• Late July through September
• Most active between 10 PM – Midnight
• Look for protected nests marked with signs or stakes

Your Best Chances of a Sighting
✨ 1–3 days after a heavy rain
✨ During especially warm weather
✨ About 50–60 days after a nest was laid

Turtle Watching Etiquette 🐢
If you’re lucky enough to witness hatchlings emerging:

• Never touch the turtles
• No flashlights, phone lights, or flash photography
• If absolutely necessary, use only a very dim red flashlight
• Stay behind them and out of their path to the water
• Keep voices soft and the beach peaceful
