Hello Everyone! MRSP will be opening for more access this weekend! Please read through this list of updates and changes and be prepared to be patient and gracious as everyone adjusts to a new way of doing things. Happy outdoors!
☀️ Visitor center including exhibit hall and gift shop are open 7 days a week from 8am- 5pm.
🚴♀️ Bike, kayak, paddleboards, and flat bottom boat rentals are open 8am to 4:30 pm each day. We can take reservations and payment over the phone.
😷 Face coverings are required to enter the visitor center for ages 10 and up. Only 10 people will be allowed inside at a time. If you don’t have a mask or choose not to wear one, that’s ok, we will gladly help you outside or by the phone. 870.295.4040
🎣 We are in the process of ordering live bait. We will be back to selling crickets, worms, and minnows.
🥾 All trails, day-use areas, and fishing areas are open from 6am to sunset.
🏊♀️ Storm Creek Swim Beach has a target opening date of Friday, May 22. Bear Creek Swim Beach has the same target date, but there is no water and therefore no swimming due to the damaged spillway.
🐝 Interpretive Programs are canceled through end of May.
⛺️ Camping is still limited to self-contained recreational vehicles or trailers until further notice.
🚻 Camping restrooms and bathhouses are closed. Porta Potties are located at visitor center, Bear Creek Lake Boat Ramp, and Storm Creek Swim Beach for day use needs.
📞 We are still practicing contactless check-in if a camper does not want to come to the visitor center.
🚗Camping is limited to 8 people per site at all times and 2 registered vehicles. Non-registered campers and vehicles will be asked to leave.
🤝 Our pavilion and multi-purpose room is still closed until further notice.
🚫 Groups in Day Use Area and trail area should be limited to no more than 10 people.
🌳 US Forest Service Offices within the visitor center are closed until further notice.
🛢♻️🚮 Our biggest issue last weekend was LITTER. The park received an over whelming amount of litter on roadways and fishing areas. Please help us keep the park clean!
