👻 Would you spend the night in Room 6?

At the corner of Front and Perry Streets in Marietta stands the Railroad House Inn, a historic establishment dating to 1823. For more than two centuries, it has welcomed travelers passing through this Susquehanna River town.

But according to local legend, not everyone who checked in has checked out.

Over the years, guests and employees have reported strange happenings throughout the building. Kitchen utensils allegedly move on their own. A young girl dressed in Victorian clothing has reportedly appeared to startled employees. And some overnight guests claim to have awakened to find mysterious figures watching them.

But perhaps no room has a more unsettling reputation than Room 6.

Even when the room is empty, unexplained banging and other noises have reportedly been heard coming from within. Some visitors describe sudden cold spots, while others claim to feel an overwhelming sense of dread just approaching the doorway.

Then there's Anne Marie.

According to one version of the legend, she was a young woman whose heart was broken when the man she loved failed to return. Some believe her spirit still lingers in Room 6, where a woman in old-fashioned clothing has reportedly been seen gazing mournfully out the window, seemingly waiting for someone who never came home.

Is it merely the creaking of a 200-year-old building, the rumble of passing trains, or something that history has left behind?

Over approximately two miles, Jeff will lead you through the borough's historic streets, sharing the true history, ghostly legends, and unexplained mysteries surrounding places like the Railroad House Inn, the home of the notorious River Witch, and the site of a long-forgotten burial.
