The opener to this year's recital series is a piece by Louis Moreau Gottschalk called "The Banjo". Written in 1853, this piece is a virtuosic, rhythmically charged work that draws on early American popular idioms, with moments where the quick key strokes begin to almost sound like the banjo. 🪕 🎹

We're proud to be part of this Nation's massive history for 141 of those years (we were built in 1885!) and serving Guests as The Heather House for 35 years.
