The Terrace at Little Green

Hi everyone! Summer is soon approaching and that would normally mean opening The Terrace at Little Green for outdoor dining/drinking.

However, it is becoming reality that The Terrace at Little Green will not be open to the public this year, and maybe never.

There are neighbors that have continued to file appeals against our conditional use approval to operate the outdoor food truck and tiki bar. We won two CUP approvals and a BOA approval, but there was just another appeal filed by neighbors to Green Lake County Circuit Court for a Certiorari review of the BOA approval we received.

Unless we are put in a position to be successful, with a fully operational tiki bar, bathroom building, and walk-in cooler, we won't have a PUBLIC outdoor restaurant, food truck, and tiki bar. Keep in mind the owners/operators of The Terrace are separate from the owners of the building/hotel/Little Green Lodge.

Little Green Lodge has been doing absolutely amazing for renting the building space for events, family reunions, and small weddings with all 5 star reviews. They are booked the entire summer, bringing people from all over the country to Green Lake County. That will continue and we will still rent the hotel rooms/restaurant for those types of events.

But the public outdoor space currently occupied by The Terrace at Little Green will be rented in conjunction with Little Green Lodge for this summer for private events only. We will be using our liquor and food licenses to continue to operate a bar and restaurant, but only for those that privately rent the space.

So The Terrace at Little Green will NOT be open to the public this summer.

Opening night tonight for The Terrace at Little Green! With drinks, Friday fish fry, and gorgeous weather! Tomorrow/Saturday is Texas-style BBQ with our smoker!

Reminder…the building itself is NOT the restaurant and we are outdoor dining only. Please do NOT enter the building!!! The building is privately booked for weddings, vacations, reunions, and events.

The Terrace at Little Green is outdoor seating only with picnic tables, Tiki Bar, food truck, and live music and is located on the north end of the property. We are open Fridays 4pm to 10pm and Saturdays 11am to 10pm.

The Terrace at Little Green (formerly Vandy’s) is excited to announce a number of local partnerships for our opening weekend this weekend!! Are you ready for this Friday June 23rd (4pm to 10pm) and Saturday June 24th (11am to 10pm)?!

- J's BBQ in Ripon - signature sauce on our pork burnt ends
- Brandon Meats & Sausage - provide local meats for the BBQ
- Carbliss in Plymouth - crafted cocktails in a can
- Knuth Brewing Company in Ripon - signature tap beers and free swag
- Local live music all weekend from Northsoul, Sam Cruz, Joseph Bauer, Michael Darling, etc.
- Sweet N Easy Events LLC - extra pub tables and decorations
-Local Amish-made colorful adirondack chairs and picnic tables.

We are huge on community involvement and using local vendors, contractors, and partners and it will show! The Terrace at Little Green and Little Green Lodge joined the Green Lake Area Chamber, Markesan Chamber, and we are a Tavern League of Wisconsin Member.

The property owner started a non profit when he was 17 called Fish for Kids which has taught over 2,000 kids how to fish. The Terrace will donate to bring a Fish For Kids Workshop to Little Green Lake near year!

Come enjoy our Friday Fish Fry or on Saturday our authentic BBQ using our 330 gallon smoker. Enjoy a beer, mixed drink, or Carbliss to watch the sunsets. We are extremely excited to announce the future plans for Roses Lakeside Pub (formerly Vandy’s)!

New ownership took over in February and have been busy doing a lot of positive changes. We had over 300 people and contractors involved to do a total renovation on the inside, and plans for more exterior improvements. Lots of really good things in the works for the property!

Even though there were a lot of rumors spreading around, we are still having a restaurant! The restaurant will go by the name of “The Terrace at Little Green” and will be on the north side of the property for outdoor eating only (formerly where the boat launch used to be).

Mark your calendar…The Terrace will officially open Friday, June 23rd! We will be open this first year on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer.

The Terrace provides a beautiful outdoor dining space, large boat dock, a Tiki Bar, and a Food Truck serving Friday Fish Frys and tasty authentic BBQ on Saturdays. Grab your friends and stop by to enjoy a drink, amazing food, play some outdoor games, watch the sunsets, and listen to live music. The north dock is also open to patrons of The Terrace to stop in with their boat. The Terrace will undergo a major renovation with new concrete and landscaping, but for this year we want to get open for all of you to enjoy the summer at The Terrace! Noah Goebel and Becky Ruppel, who live just outside of Eldorado, own and manage The Terrace. They have years of bar and restaurant experience and focus on amazing food and experience.

The building itself will go by “Little Green Lodge” and will be managed by Emily Schifelbine with Little Adventure Vacation Rentals out of Fond du Lac. Guests can book the entire building for family reunions, vacations, corporate retreats, and smaller weddings. Little Green Lodge is 11,000 SF, sleeps 8 to 40 people, 8 hotel style suites, has a massive game room, two kitchens, and amazing waterfront views. Book Little Green Lodge at www.littleadventure.net. So the building, the south boat dock, and the land adjacent to the park is not open to the public because it will be booked as one rental to private groups. So please make sure to not use that area. The public restaurant is The Terrace on the north end of the property.

A map of the private versus public areas, website, and menu will be provided in the coming weeks.

The other thing to clarify for why it took so long for an announcement is that we worked through, and got approved, for all our permits with the local Town of Green Lake, Green Lake County, State of Wisconsin DSPS, WDNR, DOR, etc and are doing everything the right way to really improve the property for the long-term. The owners of the property, Tony and Cara Goebel also are local and live in Eldorado area with their three young boys. They have a one month old and The Terrace restaurant owners/managers have a two month old, so thank you for your patience! We really look forward to seeing you out at The Terrace this summer!

Friends, family, & community members:

With a heavy heart, Rose’s Lakeside Pub & Lodging will be officially closing it’s doors after this weekend.

The Rose’s staff & family want to thank everyone for the support over this past year. We’re grateful for the time we have been open, and wish the best of luck to the new owners.

We will be closed Thursday and Monday. Come down to see us Friday through Sunday for our final weekend.
